Privacy policy

The short version. The app analyses your training videos entirely on your phone and uploads nothing. This website collects one thing — the email address you type into the waitlist form — and uses it to email you twice.
1. The app
CaliVision performs pose detection and form scoring locally, using a model bundled inside the app. Consequently:
- Your videos are never uploaded. Clips you record or import are written to the app’s private storage directory on your device. We have no server that receives them and no ability to access them.
- Clips are trimmed before they are saved. Only the working window of a set is kept — the footage either side is discarded on your device and never stored anywhere.
- Your training data stays local. Sessions, scores, records and progressions are stored in a database on your phone.
- No account is required. There is no sign-up, no profile and no identifier linking the app to you.
- Sharing is always explicit. A clip leaves the app only when you choose to share it through your phone’s own share sheet, at which point the destination app’s privacy policy applies.
- Uninstalling deletes everything. Because the data lives only on your device, removing the app removes it. You can also delete individual clips from the storage panel at any time.
The camera permission is used for recording sets. The microphone permission is requested by the video recorder; audio is not part of the analysis.
2. This website
What we collect
If you join the waitlist we store the email address you enter, an optional movement you select, thedate and time of the signup, and thehostname of the page you submitted from (for examplecalivision.app) so we know which pages people sign up from. We do not store full referring URLs, query strings or IP addresses alongside your signup.
The address is stored in our own database on Cloudflare, hosted in Western Europe. No email provider holds it until we send those two emails.
What we do with it
We send you an email when the Android closed test opens, and one when the app is publicly released. That is the entire intended use. We do not sell, rent or share the list, and there is no newsletter.
What we do not use
- No advertising or tracking cookies. The site sets no cookies.
- No third-party analytics, no pixels, no session recording, no fingerprinting.
- No fonts loaded from a third-party CDN — typefaces are served from this domain, so no font request reveals your visit to anyone else.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, request path, user agent) for security and abuse prevention, as any web host does. The waitlist endpoint also applies short-lived, in-memory rate limiting keyed on a request’s IP; that value is not written to disk and is discarded within a minute.
3. Your rights
You can unsubscribe using the link in any email we send. To have your address removed from the list entirely, or to ask what we hold about you, email hello@calivision.appand we will action it within 30 days.
Under UK and EU data protection law you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Our lawful basis for holding your waitlist address is consent, which you gave by submitting the form and can withdraw at any time. Since the app collects nothing, these rights concern the waitlist only.
4. Retention
Waitlist addresses are kept until the app has launched and the launch email has been sent, or until you unsubscribe — whichever is sooner. After launch the list is deleted rather than repurposed as a marketing list.
5. Children
This site and the waitlist are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
6. Changes
If this policy changes materially — particularly if the app ever gains a feature that transmits data — we will update the date at the top and say what changed. We will not quietly widen the scope of what is collected.
